LMK Power engineers install changeover panels at the mains before the distribution board. This strategic placement ensures efficient control of power switching between the mains and the generator.
The panels detect pre-determined instabilities in the mains supply (such as frequency variations, voltage variations, phase failures) and automatically switch to generator power. The instability parameters can be programmed in to ensure that the panels only activate the generator when required. After the instability stabilises, the panels seamlessly transfer back to the mains and deactivate the generator, ensuring a continuous power supply.
Please note that both systems involve a brief switching event during which there will be a momentary loss of power. This loss occurs as the generator powers up (following a power failure or a detected pre-determined instability) and when the system switches back to a stable power supply. The switching event time can be adjusted based on equipment requirements on site to ensure a safe shutdown and restart.
